What are we looking for? 

We are looking for an individual who is creative, organised, enthusiastic and hardworking. This individual must be able to work under pressure, can multi-task and has strong project management skills. We are also looking for someone who has keen attention to detail, is forward thinking and quick to learn. Someone who is fun, polite and outgoing would also be a bonus!

 

Job Description 

As an Event Manager at Callow Event Management, you will work closely with our team of Event Directors and Assistants, managing events and clients from fruition through to completion. You will work on a variety of events, from charity galas to employee engagement events, conferences to private parties and more!

Duties and Key Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Working with key clients to project manage an event from pitch/proposal stage to delivery
  • Managing client relationships, meeting regularly, and advising and guiding them on their event journey, ensuring key deliverables are achieved
  • Working closely with an Event Assistant allocated per project, and delegating accordingly to aid the development of each event
  • Researching current event trends, new ideas, entertainment, and venues, all contributing to the creation of exciting event concepts
  • Working to develop and strengthen supplier relationships
  • Ensuring each event achieves income targets and working to enhance and develop income streams
  • Assisting Directors with business development ventures and contributing imaginatively and proactively in this development
  • Delivery and management of events at a variety of events in different locations

Working primarily Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm as well as additional evenings and weekends when events are taking place. 

A Callow Event Manager will plan and organise their own workload to meet deadlines, delegate accordingly to their supporting Event Assistants and ensure project deadlines are set, achieved, and delivered with ease.

 

Essential Criteria

  • 3rd Level Qualification preferably in Event Management although this is not essential
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role with transferable skills
  • Demonstratable examples of project management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation – excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in organising an event either individually or as part of a team
  • Experience in managing a team or delegating to fellow colleagues
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a car during employment
