Every year we are tasked by our long-term corporate client to pull together two unique event concepts for the company to reward their staff for their hard work & commitment. Usually, the summer party takes place out of the city, with the Christmas party held in Belfast City Centre. We are tasked with finding a unique venue, creating an engaging and awe-inspiring event concept & rolling this concept out from start to finish, ending with an unforgettable evening for all the staff.
Inspired by hit Holywood movie, The Greatest Showman, we wanted to create an unforgettable evening of entertainment, food & fun for our corporate client. We began by scoping suitable city centre venues for the 350+ guests and settled on the traditional lecture space at Queens University, Belfast, Whitla Hall.
This space needed to be completely transformed and we began by firstly pulling together a design concept with our local suppliers. Due to Christmas university exams we had from 2pm-5pm to completely dress and transform the space so prior planning was key, with our design team ready to pounce and get going!
Guests were collected by bus from their office and taken to Whitla Hall, welcomed by our Ringmaster fire breather on arrival for drinks & canapes, whilst our actors & performers roamed throughout the guests.
After their show stopping welcome, staff were seated for an incredible 30-minute performance which was derived in the previous weeks leading up to the party. We worked with some of the best talent in Northern Ireland and our local production company to pull together this bespoke 30-minute show complete with acrobats, dancers & singers all singing the best songs from The Greatest Showman.
Once the show was over guests were then brought to the main event area to be seated for a two course Christmas dinner and drinks. The tables and wider event space were decorated with red sequin cloths, red and gold banqueting chairs, feathered centerpieces, circus theme props & table props such as feather boas and ringmaster hats for the guests to use through the night. Guests also had ‘Play my Jam Cards’ at each place setting available to request songs for the dance floor later. A local dance band & DJ took the party into the small hours with a pop-up taxi rank on hand to make sure guests all got home safely.
We love working with this client and they love the unforgettable experiences we can offer their staff. The parties are used as part of their wider recruitment campaigns and we see an increase in attendees year on year.
